Kimberly Komocar

Kimberly Komocar is the current Principal at Young Woods Elementary School. She has worked in the education field for 25 years, with 21 of those years in the Providence Public School District (PPSD). She spent much of her educational career in Providence schools teaching and supporting teachers as both a teacher and a reading coach. She worked in many schools throughout the District for two decades before she left to become a Principal in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. This will be Kimberly's fifth year as a Principal.

Kimberly received  dual Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Elementary Education from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island. She then earned her Master's of Education Degree from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, and is a graduate of the Principal Residency Network, a rigorous residency-based principal program with the Center of Leadership and Educational Equity.

Kimberly's vision for Young Woods Elementary School is that education is the most powerful tool to break down barriers and uplift communities. She is committed to empowering all to be change agents so that all students excel and exceed high standards.

Kelly Spaziano

Kelly Spaziano is the Assistant Principal at Young Woods Elementary School. She has been working in education for 32 years, all with the Providence Public School District (PPSD). She has been an Assistant Principal for the past 25 years, and, prior to that, was a second grade bilingual teacher.

She received her Bachelor's degrees in Spanish and Elementary Education  from Rhode Island College in Providence, Rhode Island, then received her Master's in Educational Leadership from there as well.

Kelly's vision for Young Woods Elementary School is to continue to take the school to new heights - both academically and linguistically. She is very excited to support the new Dual Language Program at Young Woods.
